I graduated from The Ithaca New York Finger Lakes School of Massage in 2005 and became licensed to practice massage therapy in New York and New Jersey. Since then I have become certified in Esalan Massage in Big Sur, California, as well as The Old Medicine Hospital in Chaing Mai, Thailand. Every summer I have taken courses in Ayurvedic Massage with Dr. Vasant Lad. My travels throughout Southeast Asia and the Middle East are also incorporated through my modalities.
My aim is to help you slow down and get present in your body, and to support your intention whatever that may be – pain relief, relaxation, and/or greater presence and embodiment.
I honor the time you schedule with me. From my heart I offer a safe and nurturing space for you, your massage is customized to your specific needs. A time to reset your body, a gentle reminder that we are not a human doing, and ease back into the natural state of a human being.
Sessions incorporate a wide range of modalities, with an emphasis on Esalen Massage®, trigger point, deeper bodywork and sound healing. I receive each client with presence and connection, catering to what they need and holding space for total relaxation.
Shafa is the word used for "healing" in the eastern persian tradition.
